First week of August and it’s:
National Simplify Your Life week:
Did you know that the first week of August is National Simplify Your Life week? We’re all familiar with the idea of spring cleaning, but some late-summer simplifying is a great way to keep the clutter to a minimum going into fall. But simplifying your life isn’t just about removing the physical clutter out of your cabinets; it’s meant to make us look a little bit closer at our lifestyle and eliminate the things that keep us from truly enjoying life. In today’s fast-paced world, the idea of sitting on the porch with your family or a good book without having anywhere to be can be hard to imagine, but we’re here to tell you it’s possible, not just for those who are getting ready to move to one of the best places to retire, but for everyone!
It’s also Breastfeeding Week:
This World Breastfeeding Week, WABA calls for concerted global action to support women to combine breastfeeding and work. Whether a woman is working in the formal, non-formal or home setting, it is necessary that she is empowered in claiming her and her baby’s right to breastfeed.
The Ministry of Health yesterday launched its National Breastfeeding week in Lautoka. The key message was to encourage a healthy lifestyle for our infants through breast feeding. Heralding the nutrition month in the Ministry of Health Calendar, this week’s national breastfeeding launch could not have come at a better time. With only 40 percent of Fijian mothers breastfeeding their children, the Health Ministry has take this opportunity to highlight the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
