Three months after his death on Christmas Day, George Michael was laid to rest yesterday in an intimate ceremony. A source says Michael was buried in London at Highgate Ceremony next to his beloved mother, Lesley, who died 20 years ago. The burial comes almost three weeks after the legendary singer’s cause of death was revealed. Michael suffered many health issues in recent years and died of heart diseases known as dilated cardiomyopathy and myocarditis and fatty liver.
George Michael (25 June 1963 – 25 December 2016), was an English singer, songwriter, record producer, and philanthropist who rose to fame as a member of the music duo Wham! Up to the time of his death, Michael sold more than 115 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
Faith was Michael’s first solo album, and second single as a solo artist. When the album was released, Michael explained why he chose this song as the title track, saying: “It represents the way I feel at the moment. It’s kind of another word for my hope and optimism. You know, faith to me is just really such a strong word and the more I got into the idea of the song being the single, the more I liked the idea of using it as the title track.”
May the soul of the legendary George Michael rest in love and May we find peace in knowing that he is in a greater place.
